Mr. DeLoach created principal roles in the world premiers of Wiesman's/Hoiby's Darkling, Beeferman's "The Rat Land", Drattell's "Lilith" and "Marina: A Captive Spirit", and Paul Schoenfield's "The Merchant and the Pauper". He has recorded Eli Siegmeister's "The Lady of the Lake" with Gerard Schwarz and the Seattle Symphony for Naxos, and released a solo recital CD, "Marcus DeLoach: American Song", on the One Soul Records label. In 2007, he made his Seattle Opera and Berkshire Opera debuts as Schaunard in La Boheme, Tulsa Opera debut as Dancairo in Carmen, and Opera Ireland debut as Joseph De Rocher in Jake Heggie's Dead Man Walking (a role he has understudied in recent years at New York City Opera, The State Opera of South Australia, Calgary Opera and Dresden Staatsoper). And, in 2008, he will sing Nilakantha in Lakme for Tulsa Opera. Mr. DeLoach has appeared regularly on The Marilyn Horne Foundation's "On Wings of Song" recital series broadcast on WQXR radio and with The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center where he has collaborated with numerous concert artists including Martin Katz, Ransom Wilson, and the Borromeo String Quartet. Adding to the credits of his cross-over career, last winter he joined the acclaimed rock group Trans-Siberian Orchestra for their rock opera "Christmas Eve and Other Stories" in a tour that took him across the Eastern United States and Canada playing at numerous venues including Madison Square Garden and the Fleet Center performing for an estimated audience of one quarter million. |

| In 1997 he was unanimously voted the first place winner of London's inaugural Wigmore Hall International Song Competition and went on to give a critically acclaimed recital debut there in 1999. Of his singing, Hilary Finch of The London Times has written, "A well-groomed voice, a flair for programme shaping, a fervent desire to communicate, and, above all, that elusive fusion of instinct and understanding which sparks a quality of imagination transcending mere accomplishment." Mr. DeLoach holds both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from The Juilliard School. He has also attended The Britten-Pears School, New England Conservatory, and The Music Academy of the West. The Opera Index, Albanese-Puccini, Rosa Ponselle, Liederkranz and George London foundations, the Young Concert Artists International, The National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, Metropolitan Opera National Council and The Gaddes Fund have all honored him for his outstanding achievements and artistry. |
